The Context:
COP29 is fast approaching, and the future of our planet is at stake. As Christians, we are called to be faithful stewards of God’s creation, and the Church has a critical role to play in the global response to climate change. Join our upcoming webinar to explore the biblical foundations for creation care, learn how the Church is engaging with COP29, and discover practical ways to make a difference in the climate crisis.
We’ll dive into key questions: Why is COP important for the Church, and how is the Church involved in COP29? What does the Bible teach about our responsibility as stewards of God’s creation? How can Christians influence climate negotiations and advocate for climate justice? You’ll also hear inspiring stories of how churches around the world are responding to the climate crisis and find out what steps you can take to reduce your carbon footprint and support sustainable practices in your community.
COP29, held in Baku this November, will focus on critical issues like setting a new global climate finance target, reducing emissions, and helping nations adapt to the impacts of climate change. This “Finance COP” aims to address the funding gap, with experts calling for up to $1 trillion annually to support climate action. As we navigate these challenges, the Church must raise its voice and act as a beacon of hope for a sustainable, just future.
