On 27 June 2026 (11:00 AM – 1:00 PM IST), Micah India convened a national webinar titled “Sacred Worldviews and Environmental Behaviour: The Role of Religion & Culture in Shaping Ecological Consciousness in India.” The session featured Mr. Salathiel Nalli, as the keynote speaker.
Around 50 Christian environmentalists, pastors, and church workers participated in the event. The session concluded with lively discussions and interactive exchanges, equipping attendees to foster ecological consciousness within their congregations.
Framing creation care as integral to Christian discipleship rather than merely a secular issue, the presentation anchored environmental responsibility in two foundational biblical commandments:
Loving God: Care for creation is an authentic act of worship. Believers are called to practice faithful stewardship, constantly evaluating lifestyle choices through the lens of need versus greed.
Loving Your Neighbour: Ecological degradation and climate change hit vulnerable communities hardest. Drawing from extensive field experience, Mr. Nalli highlighted urban land subsidence in Jakarta, prolonged flood displacements in South Sudan, and historical development impacts among Jharkhand’s Malto tribal communities.
