Transbiblica Advocates for Creation Care at Telangana Christian Council Executive Committee Meeting
The Telangana Council of Churches (TCC), affiliated with the National Council of Churches in India, held its Executive Committee meeting at the Henry Martin Institute (HMI) in Hyderabad on 19 November 2024.
Transbiblica was represented by its Board Members- Dr. Indira Molugumati and Danam Baragati, who actively participated in the discussions.
During the meeting, Dr. Indira presented a proposal on behalf of Transbiblica to sensitize churches on Creation Care issues. Emphasizing the importance of environmental stewardship as a divine mandate, Dr. Indira referenced Genesis 1:28 to highlight the responsibility of humankind to care for the earth.
The proposal included plans for a workshop titled “Environmental Stewardship – God’s First Mandate to Mankind,” aimed at addressing climate change and global warming challenges through sustainable leadership based on biblical teachings. The workshop will focus on promoting eco-friendly behaviors and sustainable practices within the church community.
Key objectives include:
- Organizing year-long programs and workshops on environmental stewardship.
- Encourage each church to nominate 2-3 leaders to participate in these initiatives.
- Foster a collaborative effort towards addressing ecological concerns in alignment with biblical principles.
The TCC responded positively to the proposal and agreed to implement the suggested initiatives, marking a significant step towards promoting environmental stewardship within the church community.
Transbiblica is dedicated to promoting environmental stewardship and sustainable practices within the church community. Through education and advocacy, Transbiblica aims to inspire collective action towards a sustainable future.
